Conditions: fabulous soft spring snow, sunny - cloudless, temps in mid to upper 40's

Whoever did not get out today, really missed out on a super day. I'm sure that this was a fabulous day all over NE. For us, another family day at Ragged. We hit it for a 1/2 day since I knew that morning was going to be on the firm side - the overnight temps did go down way below freezing.
We hit the slopes at 12:30 and just about everywhere was just buttery soft. Aside from the couple of powder days I caught eariler in February, this really was the best day of this season.
It is really just so awesome to pick up some speed, drop the hip into the turm and ride the arc, edges biting into the soft cover, release, rebound, repeat on to the other side. It was great to see my two boys really get into this and just groove on the snow goodnes. The money spent on lessons and then slow poking togheter for a couple of seasons are now paying off. I can take them anywhere and they're just flying down the mountain. My wife was also stylin' some fine curved arcs. Finnaly got her off the straight skis and she discovered the unbearable lighteness of skiing on her new Bandits.
The were some "ego" moguls on Ragged Glades, some more challenging stuff at Sweepstakes and Birches, but all awesome fun. Despite the intense sun, the snow did not get "grabby" until close to the end of the day. The "not too shabby" glades were open, but we had way too much fun ripping up the open slopes, so did not get into the trees. Remarkably, no crowds. It was busy enough so every now and then we would wait a tad to get a clear shot at an empty slope, but definitely, not crowded.
Great snow cover, edge to edge. If the rains stay away, Ragged will finish off the season in fine shape.
