Ragged Mountain - 1.15.11

Conditions: packed pow, ungroomed

Trip Report: sleepy kids = late start so we only got 1/2 day @ Ragged today. Weather was chilly, -3 when we got up but "warmed" to 20 or so during the day with no real wind to speak of.

Parking was a nightmare but the lift lines and trails were fine. Snow conditions were excellent. Bumped into DHS, roccojerry + roccojerry's fiancée and joined up for 1/2 a run but we went left while they went right.

skied groomers most of the afternoon but DHS had mentioned Raggae Glades and Birches and i hit them at the end of the day. Both were ungroomed and good runs. I hit a rock and took a tumble on Raggae which for some strange reason made my son very happy.

Due to MLK weekend I was expecting long lift lines but it didn't happen. I had fun.

Ragged - MLK Saturday

With the Ride and Ski weekend tour offering 2-for-1's at Ragged, I knew thats where I would head on saturday. Given wednesdays storm was a bit more southern, I was pretty excited to be at Ragged and wanted to get an early start... Unfortunately, got to the hill an hour later than I wanted..... From the looks of it, the mountain was packed. On the trails and lifts though, it really wasn't bad at all....

My favorite trails of the day were: Big Rock, Cabin Fever, Reggae Glades, Lower Ridge, Birches, and Sweepstakes... tough day on Tele's, first real full day on ski's.... Found some nice pow out there! Surprised being a few days after the storm Good times at Ragged! Hope to explore the glades a bit more with some more snow and confidence!

Good to bump into DHS and gmc on the hill!
