Any thoughts on this? Even Cemetery Gates is open, but essentially 1/3 of the Spear side isn't? Aargh. I suppose I should be grateful the chair is running at all. Might just have to go to 10e Sunday instead. </rant>

it was opened yesterday at about noon .:uzi: AFTER ski patrol takes loooooong time and many many runs to check it, mark it. Have discussions about it:puke: and when it was opened headwall was not as sweet as you might expect BUT large wide open portion of the trail under the lift was absolutely epic for short period of time.

going their Sunday again:daffy:

How crowded can it gets? It is Superbowl Sunday after all

True enough... I was thinking of the downhill which uses Flying Yankee, but I'm sure this is a small course, if the racers are on the 6-pack that shouldn't be too bad.

I called Ragged today and was told the races will be on Upper Exhibition > Town Meeting > Main Street > Village Green. Supposedly there were around 150 entrants last year. I'm thinking that shouldn't cause major problems given that the mountain is 100% open.

Doesn't sound bad at all... better than tying up the whole Spear side for sure. We went to 10e anyway and old-schooled it, my daughter was horrified at first but having fun by the end of the day.

I see from some comments on another forum that it was an issue of making enough snow to cover the stream area midway down... makes sense now that I think about it. I guess good things are worth the wait.

How was Ragged on Sunday? 10e was fairly busy by their standards but certainly nothing you could call a "crowd"

I went to Ragged this past Sunday and it was great. The race event (Mt. Dew?? or some other other promo)was done by noon and no lift lines of any kind. Conditions were soft, everything opened and the glades, although really scrapped on the steeper parts, were quite enjoyable. We only did Rags to Riches, so I don't really know about the other ones - I just did not want to "hear" the rocks.
