VERNON, New Jersey -- Thanks to the recent artic blast, winter is finally upon us and Mountain Creek has been making tons of snow in anticipation of our re-OPENING this Friday, January 19th. With the warmest December on record behind us, all signs point toward cold temperatures settling in – perfect conditions to put our powerful SnoLab26 to work.
Mountain Creek began making snow again last Tuesday January 9th and kept those guns pumping out the powder until Friday's warm up. Then our snowmaking team fired them up again around Noon this Tuesday and plans are to keep them going as long as temps cooperate. The long range forecast calls for continued COLD through at least the end of the month, and we'll take maximum advantage of those temps with round the clock snowmaking.
The resort will reopen this Friday, January 19th at 9am at the Vernon Peak, and resume regularly scheduled operating hours from 9am-10pm daily. We expect to have approximately 6 trails and 3 lifts running and hope to add additional trails quickly. For an accurate trail count and snowmaking plan visit the snow report at mountaincreek.com
