Verbier, Switzerland- March 23, 2012 - Recon Instruments, award winning innovator of Heads-up Display (HUD) technology for action sport athletes, is excited to announce it is an official partner of the Freeride World Tour 12 Final from March 22-25th in Verbier, Switzerland. Recon will be demoing the MOD Live, the world's first and only GPS enabled HUD for alpine goggles, both on-hill and in the Event Village. Attendees will have the opportunity to get hands-on with the award winning HUD and a chance to win a prize pack loaded with a MOD Live, Recon Ready Scott NAV-R-2 goggles and Contour HD camera.

The MOD Live's Speed, Vertical, and Jump features are especially popular with extreme skiers and riders, some of whom will be wearing the HUD during the competition at Verbier. The intimidating Bec de Rosses, provides the perfect test for big mountain riders to measure speed, vertical distance traveled and record the height, distance, drop and airtime of each jump with the MOD Live as they navigate the mountain's 500 meter jagged rock face.

"The final of the Freeride World tour is the epitome of big mountain skiing and snowboarding, there is not a more challenging venue than the Bec de Rosses," said Oliver Springgay, General Manager - Europe, Recon Instruments. "Our HUD technology provides these pioneering athletes with performance data in real-time and allows them and the public to analyze their runs in greater detail at the end of the day thanks to the Recon HQ platform."

Recon's partnership with Contour allows the MOD Live to transform into a wireless viewfinder when paired with Contour action cameras so the user can see what they are filming in real-time; capturing every jump, twist and turn from their point of view.

Recon Instruments' MOD Live snaps into Recon Ready goggles from partners like Uvex, Briko, Zeal Optics, Alpina, and the most recently added Scott and Smith to their growing family of eyewear brand partners.

MOD Live is available for $399.99 or Euro 360 at www.reconinstruments.com and the major snow sports retailers across the world.
