So they go up $1 on the weekend and down $14 during the mid-week non holiday. Monthly Sunday Maine-day's down $6 as well.

I think last year mid-week was $49 but they had a "daily deal" for $35. (mens day, ladies day etc). Now it is just $35 all the time.

I can see they are trying to increase mid-week traffic. An interesting approaching to ticket pricing...

Whadda y'all think?

obviously a fantastic deal. Whether it makes financial sense for them really depends

2 x $49 = $98
3 x $35 = $105

If they sell 50% more mid-week tickets it's a smart move for them.

Also another reason for this is more people = more potential buyers of house lots, condo's, townhomes, etc....afterall, real estate is where the money is really at, at least initially.

Some money is better than no money. I think the midweek pricing will appeal more to the locals, who can ill afford high tix. Another take is to use Liftopia to throttle the price midweek. The other approach is the Magic approach - closing days during the week which is tough for the pass holders and Hard on employees, but you gotta be in the black. Saddleback being so far from major metro areas, As others said, time will tell.

I can see Saddleback being a target for a mid week powder trek, even from here. If I can get someone to watch the kids overnight I could head up the night before and crash with friends.

What do I think?

It's unsustainable and they might go out of business.

Bah humbug.

To be honest I'd be over whether daily lift prices went down or up, especially with powdery conditions. The season passes seem a little high...compared to Sugarloaf. Dailies and Ski&Stay Specials should do well...given conditions.
