Resort or Ski Area: Saddleback

Conditions: Powdah1 Packed Powdah! Some hard pack up top.

Trip Report: Great day at Saddleback. The skinny:

Snow - Lots of it, especially lower 2/3rds of mountain

Crowds - Good crowd but manageable lift lines

TOTD - Golden Smelt, Parmacheenee Bell, Lower Peachy's Peril

Quality Rating 8.5 out of 10. They are still a dump away from really getting rolling off the upper mountain. Casablanca had very good coverage... but all the headwalls off the quad were sketchy. After a couple of hours up top we ended up lapping the lower double and T and had a blast. Lots of soft stuff everywhere. They are making snow on Tight line so should be able to get some groomed headwall stuff soon.

I love the look of the trees there. Looks like they have been blasted with snow.

Nice report as always! Love the pics. Casablanca looks pretty sweet. I'd kill to know where your secret stash is...although I have a few guesses.

I was wondering how the drop in on the stuff from the quad had fared. It usually takes a bit to cover up all the crap that is in the first 100' or so.

Glad you had a great day!

Thanks Guys. The muleskinner pick made Saddleback's Web Site "Picture of the Day" which is fun for us. Funny on our "Secret Stash"... It usually has a some tracks on it we were just shocked we were first ones down 3 days post storm.

Will be interesting to see what this weeks storm does up there. Hope it stays in some sort of frozen type and no NIAR!
