Resort or Ski Area: Saddleback

Conditions: Powder, Wind Blown Powder, Hard Pack

Trip Report: Gotta love it. 70's in Lisbon Portugal Saturday - Ski Saddleback with the family Sunday with 20's and blowing wind. Welcome back to Maine

Overall a very good day at Saddleback. Pretty windy - upper quad didn't turn and Rangeley turned until 2pm. But a lot of fun. Woods had plenty of wind blown powder. Some of the groomer runs got scoured off - but Peachy's Peril was outstanding down the left side. Took a couple of runs on the NW Pass to Dark Wizard and that was great too.

Great to be back on the hill with the family after a week on the road. Seems like you guys had a great time at the AZ Summit at Sugarloaf and at Saddleback on Friday. Hope to catch up with you guys next year!

Nice report as always Sal! Looks like conditions are still great there. Any idea how the conditions are fairing off the quad? I know you said it was on hold Saturday. ( I assume it was Sunday as well)

Natural trials looked pretty shiny off the Quad... Pretty wind scoured. However, I bet it all blew into Casablanca.

We were at SB on Friday before heading over to the Loaf for the Summitt.
Lapped the quad all day...everything up top was really nice including Warden's, Frostbite and Black Beauty which normally get beat pretty good on the headwalls. Muleskinner and #1 Casa were very impressive.
Unsure what the heavy winds all wknd did though up there.
Incredible base depths remain up there...should set up well for a really nice spring.

Nice report and pics. Yes, most of it is in Casablanca – all the chutes/sections skied real well today. Quad opened about 11:30 today. Tight Line and Supervisor were both groomed, and needless to say Tight Line was bullet proof (tried the bumps to see if they were better, and they weren’t!) – Supervisor was a bit better. Skied Upper Black Beauty to Lower Frostbite, all of which sucked big time – just about the kitchen sink on those trails (combo of frozen powder, wind buffed powder drifts, and frozen packed powder). Intimidator and Nightmare skied OK (bottom sections skied better than upper sections; chute at top of Nigthmare was blown), but not as nice as Casa. Tons of snow still there – will be real nice, once it softens up.
