Does that mean Saddleback's snow totals are going to double next year? ;-)

All I can say is, WOW. I just went to the Saddleback site and I am impressed by what they have done and what they are doing. The new owners are doing a great job creating and taking advantage of the buzz. I really want to try that place. Impressive stats, re: revenue and skier visits. Saddleback was a sleeper a few years back, not now!

The $40 dollar ticket is nice, but I always have felt if you under price the market it gets you in the long run. I hope they continue to provide good competition to Boyne.

i thought sugarbush's 4,000 acres claim was a bit absurd, but saddleback is taking it to new levels! good for them.

"More than 8000 acres of high alpine peaks and forest big. Top lift elevation of over 4000 ft. And 2000 vertical feet of skiing. Big."

EDIT: and i just discovered this gem on the trailmap:

"New for '08-'09: Quad chair replaces Kennebago T-bar and services largest advanced skiing complex in the East." :-o

I think that last tid bit they get away with on a technicality much like Sunday River does in calling White Heat the longest, steepest, widest bump run in the east. I believe all trails off of Kennabago but one are advanced and there is a fair amount of terrain up there. I would still give the MRG single the title as servicing the most advanced terrain in the east though.
