Ouch - Matsui is probably out for the season.......in the late 70s the only Yankee I liked was Willie Randolph. Nowadays, the only Yankee I like is Matsui, so I hope he's OK longterm.......

This is gonna hurt the Yanks. With Sheffield out, their outfield now is Bubba Crosby, Melky Cabrera and Bernie Williams.......yikes......

re: the only Yanks I like....I respect them all...well, maybe not A Rod. I think Damon has taken the high road on all hs media ops (the ones I've seen anyway). Not A Shefield fan...whatever happened last year(?) @ Fenway in left field with him and that fan....was bush league. The fan was wrong, and any fan that reaches over the wall for a ball is wrong...but Gary S was awful in that scene.

Berne Williams...respect. Gorge Posada....respect. Jeeter...respect. Torre...respect. Stienbrenner...A-hole.

Great game last night. Lots of bad memories for me as a sox fan...three innings ended with the bases loaded. *sigh* Looked like the Yanks were going to hold the Sox down.

Speedy recovery to Matsui.

Some random comments-

Farnsworth had great stuff last nite, looked strong.

I am more focused now on jays as threat to sawx in al east then yanks....of course george will quickly balloon his payroll to $250m if he has to in pursuit of starting pitching and likely Ken Griffey jr or similar outfield target....but right now, they aren't that good. Sheffield and Matsui are the bats that strike fear into opposing pitchers.

Giambi looked disgraceful in at least 3 key AB's last night. Blown away by Timlin? Yikes. First pitch swinging in the 9th?....thanks.

I was a huge Youk doubter.....what a clutch hit last nite....one for the ages. Solid D too...

Gotta find a play for willie mo to play every day....papa hitting coach has him fixed up nice. Solid swing, real nice.

Lester hit 98 on the gun last night for pawsawx....he is right around the corner if Wells flops again....right now I ain't tradin him for d train, no way. Any one think of any lefties in the big leagues hitting 98 right now? Randy Johnson?
Nah.....

Matsui = class

Damon on fire vs sawx huh?:dunce:

I'm looking for sawx to feast on Texas this w/e, weather permitting......

Love baseball!!!

Yanks are in big trouble...losing Matsui kills them.

Broken wrists are particualrly bad for baseball players...anyone say "checked swing"? OUCH!

Outfield is now a joke. Bernie's best days are way behind him and now he's playing with 2 minor leaguers.

Not good.
