What a great American athlete.

Two-time Olympic medalist Shannon Bahrke has officially announced her retirement from the U.S. Ski Team.

The Salt Lake City resident won a silver medal in women’s aerials at the 2002 Salt Lake Games, then earned bronze at the 2010 Vancouver Games last February. Known for her dyed pink hair, Bahrke also won two world championship medals during her 12-year career, as well as the World Cup title in 2003.

Bahrke plans to get married in the fall, and concentrate on building her local coffee business, Silver Bean Coffee.
