Fall is a pretty time of year.

Gonna do some local hiking this weekend to check out the colors.

I went to a local lake (Wallum) last night and was amazed how the colors had popped there. It was only about four miles from my house where things are by and large still pretty green, (although starting to change)

Heading up to Killington this weekend for a getaway, I hope the colors are vibrant. Can't wait.

We are starting to get past peak here in the NEK. DMC is right that the dry weather has dried up the leaves.

What is the big pile of something from just behind small peak in the foreground?

A huge closed asbestos mine. http://www.uvm.edu/~envprog/formslinks/Vermont%20Mining/Asbestos.html The pile closer to the bottom of the mountain, which is not visible in my picture above is about 300-400' tall.
