Resort: Ski Butternut
Date Skied: 12/31/2006 12:00 to 3:00pm
Conditions: Lots of sun, 40 degrees.
Trip Report: Having been at church in the am and having a NYE party at my house, I only had a small amount of time to ski. As I pulled into the entrance, the lot looked like your typical weekend, lots of cars.
I parked in the upper lot, booted up and walked to the ski trail. Normally I grab the rope tow, but this time I walked up the grassy trail (no snow). The Highline Quad was the main mountain lift open serving Main Street and Nut Hatch.
There was not much to report, hard pack with some lose snow. It was crowded as expected but around 2pm the lines disappeared. I give them credit for having as much open as they did. Most people were going down Nut Hatch, possibly because there was less icy patches.
It still was great to get out and make some turns.
Here are some pictures I took from where I parked as I left.
