How about Bates in Lewiston, Maine. One of the major reasons I chose it was its geographic location as well as the academics. forty minutes from the ocean, 5 minutes and a free lift ticket to the tiny Lost Valley in auburn, 40 minutes to Mt. Abrams, 1 hour from Sunday river, 1 hour 45 from Sugarloaf, 1 hour 45 minutes from the Northern Presidentials for incredible backcountry. My freshman year, I skied almost every single day at Sunday river with the alpine ski team and even my senior year, while writing thesis, taking 3 senior seminars and a night LSAT class, was still able to ski 3 times a week even though I had quit ski racing. Plus, if the skiing is shitty, winter surfing at Higgins, Scarborough or Popham beaches is only 40 minutes to an hour away.

The only time you are going to be able to ski in college is on the weekends or fridays if you are lucky enough to clear the day.
That's amusing. You must be some kind of expert. I skied every weekday for my first two years at Dartmouth. I scheduled my classes in the morning and was out on the slopes of the skiway by 1. I didn't even have a car. It was an easy hitch for a student. I think I got in more skiing than the ski team. Not only could I do this, but I could also keep a part time job as I was in a work/study program and made the Dean's list.

I went to a school that gets overlooked on this quite a bit, but I got to ski a ton. MCLA in North Adams, MA is 20 minutes from Jiminy, 40 minutes from Mt Snow (once you learn the access road skip) and just over an hour to the resorts in the Bromley, Stratton, Magic area. 1:45 to K.

There's also decent backcountry right nearby with Greylock and car laps up Route 2 and the hairpin turn. 1500 vertical feet and super easy hitching. Though some funny looks to be doing such a thing in Mass.

Get involved in the ski club and you can ski a lot for free. Or just get an ASC college pass and hit Mount Snow anytime.
