Anyone seen the movie "Steep" ?

It's out at the video store and I highly recommend it. Insane how many famous big mtn skiers wind up dying for the love of the game. Also, there's a reference to Peter Jennings at the end of the movie... was he an extreme skier... or what??

Good movie. That's in our collection and is the only ski documentary we have other than Ski Bums (which is an interesting Canadian production).

Anyone seen the movie "Steep"?

It's on dvd, you can rent it at Blockbuster, and really awesome. Not a typical ski movie per se, more of a study of the personality of big mtn skiers and the philosophy of outdoors minded folks. Some awesome footage and a dizzying account of just how many people die doing this thing we love. But a great, great movie.

Also, there's a shout out to Peter Jennings at the end of the film. I'm not sure whether he was an extreme skier or just a friend of the filmmakers. Anyone know?

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Filmed exclusively in the Eastern U.S. and Canada while following the finest regional freeskiing athletes to spectacular terrain, Meathead Films Head For The Hills features many familiar New England resorts, cat skiing in the Chic Choc Mountains, and more. Fresh backcountry footage is coupled with innovative park and urban skiing, which includes the 3rd annual Heat Harvest Superpark at Sunday River. What the East lacks in vertical drop, Meathead Films makes up for in finding tight tree skiing, deep powder, unique jump sites, creative urban terrain, and of course, die hard locals.
