Anyone have any pointers to other communities which they contribute to that covers the east coast?

I personally aren't a fan of TGR, way too idiots, not enough individuals who would like to actually help people.

Snowjournal is just plain dead, plus, I don't really like the layout.

Just curiouse other forums people may visit.

I like firsttracksonline.com ...and although there is often some really picky jabber..and the newer formatted website is imho more difficult to maneuver around, there is some good stuff over on epicski.com...Phil, Trekchick, myself(HaveSkisWillClimb) and maybe others bounce around over there...

I lurk on Epic and Kzone, but don't post very often. PASkiAndRide.com gets pretty busy/fun in the winter. I never found anything appealing on TGR or FirstTracks.

I find TGR very good for gear advice and trip reports. Lots of ball-busting there but, if you can ride through it, there's a gold mine in there. I actually just met up with some of the Boston mags. Nice guys actually. I also post on Time for Tuckerman. Great for BC stuff and beta for conditions in the Presidentials.

Of course, there's also the resort/ski area dedicated sites like the Sunday River Community. Great folks on that!

sunday river has a good message board.

I used to frequent it a fair bit when I was a pass holder there. Now only if I'm interested in the conditions.

I'm a fan of Epicski although I only post in the winter. There's a heavy western contingent but that can be useful. The east is decently represented.

I'm a member of the Sunday River board also but it's pretty boring compared to AZ and Epic.
