One thing to keep in mind, Killington is sold. Why would ASC spend more money than they need to?

Who knows for sure but according to VSAA, at least at the moment they are sticking with
their announced May 6th closing so I guess we will have to wait to see who is the "last resort open". My money is still on your resort.

Every ski resort is already planning for next year. As we all know Powdr has made it clear that they want to bring kmart back to it's glory years. To succeed they have to start now. All the resorts to my knowledge have announced their closing dates. I do have to admit that I was surprised that Okemo announced that they are planning to close 4/15.

For kmart/Powdr to build their credibility they have to do what they say.....ie stay open til May 6th. This will be their big challenge as kmart/ASC has done a pretty good job of destroying that credibility over the years. When kmart marketing executives produced that bogus website that was a new low for them and clearly showed to many of us that they truly have no clue.

This week there are several snowmaking windows, weatherwise. Who will make snow? Regarding Saddleback making snow, IMHO, they are throwing good money after bad. They have a location problem that they have to somehow overcome. I am rooting for them. The ace in the hole is their summer business. If you have ever been to Rangeley in the summer you know what I am talking about.

I have been watching the ski business for over 20 years. The coming 8 months will be an incredible and exciting time for the NE ski business. It's going to be interesting.

I completely agree with your assessment. A lot of opportunity next year for a lot of ski areas with ASC and the A41 broken up. A lot of old A41ers are going to be looking for new home mountains. Additionally, Killington has an opportunity to reinvent itself and perhaps regain some of its former glory. Snow and Attitash could be something under Peaks. Opportunity is good and there will be winners and losers, should be interesting to see which business capitalize the most next season. Though the capitalization starts now, lets see who has some ideas and who is going to take some sensible risks.
