ski socks or Snowboard socks

What is the difference between ski socks and snowboard socks or it just marketing:roll:
Can ski socks be used in snowboarding and vice versa snowboarding socks in skiing?

Is there a difference? I definitely go for snowboard pants over ski pants due to cargo pockets for wallets, keys, steeze and cheese on days when I don't wear a jacket..

The difference besides brand is padding locations. Ski socks have extra material on the bottom of the foot as well as the shins. Snowboard socks have extra padding on the bottoms, the top of the foot(for where you get pressure from the binding). I am not sure how much padding is on the shins of board socks.

You can wear either for either, with no problems as long as they fit right in the boots.
