Date(s) Skied: Sunday, 12/9/2007, 7:50 pm - 10:00 pm

Resort or Ski Area: Ski Sundown, New Hartford, Connecticut

Conditions: Wet snow, some frozen granular. Temps near freezing, no wind, rain.

Trip Report: Tough to get motivated to ski tonight given the freezing rain, but it was the plan so I went ahead with it. Got a call from Brian around 6:40 who was leaving for the mountain. I left my house a bit after 7 pm. Road were mostly just wet, but I took it slow. Got skiing a bit before 8 pm.

Met Brian at the base and skied until closing. Nice surface. Edgeable wet snow with some frozen chunks here and there. We skied all open runs from the summit; Stinger, Temptor, Nor'easter and Canyon Run. Very good side-to-side coverage. We noticed snowmaking had started on Tom's. The widened lower Stinger was interesting and had a few elements for the park rats.

Pretty uneventful night, but the company was nice as usual. Might not have made it more than an hour or so if solo. Thanks Brian.

The weather could have been better, but the surface wasn't too bad and the company was good. I wouldn't have stayed very long if not for having someone to talk to. I wouldn't have even headed over if I wasn't going to meet up with anyone...

Sorry I couldn't make it out guys. :(

No worries. I'm glad I got out, but it wasn't exactly a stellar evening. They are closed this morning. I'm hoping they're open for Wednesday night.
