Resort or Ski Area: Ski Sundown

Conditions: Packed/Solid Granular, Windy, 14°

Trip Report:

Arrived to the mountain at about 4:40, just in time to catch a wonderful sunset. Didn't realize that Thursday night is ski club night for a lot of schools, so it was pretty busy, gaggles of bandana'd youngsters bottlenecking some spots on trails, but still no lift lines.

Mostly went down Canyon Run, which had its good spots, but overall was pretty solid. The series of bumps towards the end of the trail were in good shape and really fun.

I was the first one down Stinger after a 7 p.m. grooming, pretty good run, smooth, as butter, but I guess I still falsely expected a little bit more powder yesterday after this weeks snow.

Gunbarrel was Gunbarrel. Fast, bumpy, and quick.

Overall a good after-work trip, about 12 runs, got some practice in, 3rd time to this mountain in my second season.

Welcome to the forums Ballistic. Thanks for the TR. You'll find that most weeknights have a large number of after school groups, but they start going home pretty early and are, for the most part, gone by around 8. Friday nights typically have the most groups.
