Super weird weather in CT today. I left my house in Eastern CT this AM around 7 to head to a lecture in Southington. It was 32-34 degrees the entire ride over, on off light to HEAVY R$%^ the entire ride too. The parking lot of where the lecture was had a strong resemblance to a 3" deep slurpee when I got there.

Left Southington around 1 to work my way back home. Still in the low-mid 30's and HEAVY r$%^ all the way until almost Willimantic. Then suddenly within about 3 miles the temp shoots up to the mid 50's, all the snow on the ground from last night is gone too. Be very glad that the low tracked where it did, because while the r#$% isn't great, it's much better in the low 30's than in the mid 50's!

Its just down right ugly here in CT today. Kids had no school due to the snow - and then no snow to at least play in! I love the slurpee reference!

Hope SunDown is back up and running - oldest has ski club there tomorrow night!

Ugh. Can't really fault them. I'm hoping to get a day session in on Friday regardless of what the weather person says.

Not faulting them at all, more of a public service announcement..

I think you'll be alright Friday. Looks like chance of snow in the morning changing over to light rain in the afternoon...

I doubt too many people care, but Sundown will be closed at 5pm tonight and won't re-open until Sunday... :(

I think temptor will be alright, well at least in terms of snow cover. There's a LOT of snow on that trail...

I hope you guys will be alright, but 2 or 3 inches of rain will take a toll on any ski area.

seriously, thats alot of rain to absorb. I have visions of my beautiful bump run turned into a torent of raging rapids. All that rain just flowing down MY TROUGHS undercutting the perfect lines that just needed to soften a little. I wonder if this is gonna put the bump contest in serious jeapordy.

I had this thought today too. I'm seriously depressed here today... :(

Like I said, I think there will still be snow left... I am worried about the bumps though.

I think I may take up heavy drinking tonight...

to put a positive spin on it.

In '01 i went to bromley on closing weekend. They had an absolute monsoon hit them the day before. The bumps held their ground but were just water logged. It was the strangest thing to try to ski but they didnt dissolve. Considering how absolutely setup those bumps on temptor are/were, i have to say i think they will manage to survive. they'll probably, ok, they will shrink but i cant see them having to mow them down since the weather is supposed to remain kinda warm through the next week.
