nice! That's a bucket list of mine, even though I don't love bluegrass.

Ever say that to a big Billy Strings fan? They're like music Jehovah's witnesses. They will not stop trying to convince you he's the second coming and that you must love him.

Billy is very talented, but his band is really no different to me than Yonder, Greensky or any other new / jam grass that came before him. I "like" Billy, just like I "like" most bluegrass. I can enjoy it for an hour or two. But just like I can't do a reggae festival, I can't do a bluegrass festival. It all starts to sound the same to me after an hour or two.

There's a lot more than just bluegrass at the bluegrass festival. Lake Street Dive, The Toy Factory with March=us King and Oteil playing Marshall Tucker tunes, Alison Krauss, Jason Isbell, Sarah Jarosz are all playing.

Billy Strings is an incredible technician and his banjo player Billy Failing is the best I've ever heard. I guess you have to like bluegrass though. I like him a lot but I prefer jamgrass bands like Leftover Salmon and String Cheese Incident. Telluride for me is just a great place to eb for a week. We will hike, bike, jam, eat, drink and hang with friends.

The different thing with bluegrass fests though is it's all about the jammin in the campground. I have friends that go to Grey Fox every year and they barely see any acts because they're too busy picking at their campsite day and night.

Good to hear there is some variety at that one. Many of them it's all bluegrass, all the time. Delfest being one of them. My brother used to drive 12 hours to that fest every year and beg me to go. Maybe if it were down the street I'd stop in for a few hours.

There's just only so much Mandolin, Banjo and Fiddle I can take in a day.

His fans are insufferable and one of the reasons I have no will to see him live.

9.5 people out of 10 couldn't discern Billy from <insert other jam grass band>

very talented, has talented musicians, can crossover into other genres and sit in with folks, which is great. I mean dude played with Tool... Didn't have that on my list.

Just not my cup of tea.

We saw BS a few years ago and I will not go again. Just too many people standing the entire time....having good seats was a waste.

If anyone is a fan of Sublime, there's a few shows in the area this weekend with 2/3rds of the current lineup playing Screenshot_20250605-223936.pngScreenshot_20250605-181558.pngScreenshot_20250605-181558.pngin their side bands. Should be fun. The York, Maine show Is a Brew fest, and the Meredith, NH show is a free one. Albany and Burlington, VT shows as well.

Anyone else make it to Phish in Manchester over the weekend? I made it last night. Great time.

Hopefully it's not 15 years before they return to NH again.

Pretty light music calendar this summer for me. A few local shows, Widespread in Boston and Revel in the Meadow music festival.

Those local to the NH Seacoast, Revel is a great little day festival that supports the Continuum Arts Collective, a great local charity that helps provide instruments, supplies and experiences for local students that lack the financial means

hitting Phish in Pittsburgh tomorrow!

Saw Pearl Jam in Nashville (Peter Frampton Sat in on Black) and the tour closer in Pittsburgh. Both were really good shows.

I don't think I have any concerts after Phish tomorrow. yet...
