A couple summers ago we went kayaking at Croton Point Park on the Hudson River. There were a bunch of jet skiers hanging out in a cove near the launch and one was blasting extremely loud latin pop while another was blasting extremely loud rap. I could barely make by brain work and just had to get away from there.

Apropos of nothing but I hate Arcade Fire. I think they have one beat and it's not a very interesting one.
If i had to ride fresh pow listening to Arcade Fire, I think I would rather go do something else.

And a question for ya: i don't buy concert tix in advance for shows in winter. Weekend shows that could compromise a powder day or two. I’m glad that I did not get the billy gibbons tix as they would have gone unused. How about you?

There are two bands I'll skip a ski day for. One may not ever play again (Ween) and one hasn't played in New England in a decade (Widespread Panic). Actually make that four. I'd see Tool over skiing. And I have close group of friends who are huge into moe., so my wife and I will go out with them if it's local enough.

I will see smaller band shows at the music club in town about once a month, but typically split after the first set to get up early and ski.

Summertime I'll see more music, but that's a lessening priority too as I'd often rather be hanging on my boat.

I was a live music junkie for decades, but having kids and just living a healthier lifestyle has changed that a lot over the past decade. Guess I'm old now.
