Austin lets see what happens. The Maine mountains usually come out of the bad weather pretty well. Russ the weather guy from SR gives good honest info. I'll wait and see what happens tonight and what he says tomorrow.

Ummmmm...what base?
It's forecast to be in the 60's tomorrow :x
On a different note, Bretton Woods WAS open today.
they aren't going to have much base to go on. there is going to be NOTHING left at kmart after this rain with exception of whatever they blew in the glades, oops i'm sorry, north ridge area. i was there today, it looked aweful. the glades area had decent edge to edge, but the rain today was brutal. i suspect kmart lost more than half of what they blew if not more and nothing will be left other than the remains of what they blew after tonight.Zand said:With the base the areas already have, they should all hit their targets.

i am not saying the lifts won't be turning this weekend. just don't expect much. we had two crazy warm days and then a day of downpours, much of the snow making efforts from last week is going to be washed out. these guys are for the most part going to be starting all over again thursday night.
Zand, you are just way off base suggesting that the ski areas still have much of that two foot base remaining, let alone what they will have after tomorrow is said and done. the two feet didn't go away in one day, it has been five days of warm weather and rain. who needs a weather forecast when i saw it happening myself! it was near spring skiing at jay peak on sunday because the weather was so warm, that stuff was melting quick and isn't going to stop melting until thursday.
