absolutely pouring out right now in the NEK. driving home was even more miserable than driving home from K last night. fairly warm day as well. snow makers definitely have their work cut out for them if any one is still planning on a friday opening. i can't see that happening with a quality product. i suspect even kmart is going to have trouble covering their lower slopes for their standard of what is a quality product. i am debating jay peak on saturday, though to be honest, i may just inspect the local BC and clean up after the october storm. it's not like i don't have four days on skis already and i am jonesing bad for a first day or anything.

i wonder if wildcat and kmart's innitial early opening will cool demand for mid-november skiing? will people be spoiled and not find the early season offerings worth the effort and money since sampling mid-season conditions just two weeks ago? time will tell.

Steve- Your site is awesome! How many hours a week does it take to produce such a great product? I never seem to have any time to do even the minimum work on my site.
thanks! i hesitate to calculate the total amount of time i have spent on the various revisions and evolutions over the years  but i finally have it to a level i am really happy with. from pulling images off the cam, resizing, editing, cropping, etc. and then doing a trip report, write up, edits, and finally uploading, i suspect i drop at least four hours for every trip report that gets done up full, right, and proper. though not every trip gets the full treatment. its definitely fun having that history to review after a few years and i am glad other folks have enjoyed it, certainly time when spent on both regards.

I hate to have to read it, but thanks for the honesty on the rain report rivercOIL. I was looking at the radar and it looks pretty intense over the Killington Region. At least the temps look good after the rain. Saturday shouldn't be a problem, but I do wonder what Okemo has up their sleeve.

Skiing at both Wildcat and K definitely got the bug out of me. I mean I still want to ski, but I'm not going crazy like some (cough BobR cough). In years past I could be blowing off work to get on any snow. Heck i was one of crazy people ski at Tenney on July 4th and October 4th two summers/falls ago.

That being said I'll be heading up north as soon as my wife and i get out of work.

Ga2ski your lucky I like you. I'm still a mud and dirt guy if i need to be... opening of the season to close. Sorry you have to work.

Bob - That sounds like a threat. I totally understand your need to get back on the slopes.

Keep up the good thoughts it is supposed to be cold today and tonight so hopefully SR will be open on Friday to save you the extra drive to the loaf.

.....

Well the temps are feeling pretty good for maybe Sunday...but making your way through these opening weekend crowds on minimal trail availability can get pretty wild... The Loaf or River...?? Do we have a random_number generator online...?
