Ugh... did mine just before the great Valentine's Day storm of '07. :-(

Still have to get around to doing the wife and kid's. Maybe when I can stand for more than 2 min. at a time...

folks, snap out of it. i skied crazy deep snow at the cat today. if you were to pick a year to extend a little, this is the one. 3 day total at the cat is 34-37 inches (yes it is sloppy) and if it corns up for the weekend, this could be the best spring skiing ever!!

sorry about that, I shoudl have realized by the picture. Good luck in the recovery. I tore my ACL last Feb as well. Fortunately and somehow I was able to ski on the knee after surgery. Complete reconstruction in June, back on skis in November. Strong as ever. If it means anything, stretch, squat, stretch, ride bike. You will be ready to go next season.

Believe me if I could ski I would be out there. Right now I can barely walk. Back and left leg constant sharp pain, leg sometimes goes to sleep. I don't think dr or insurance provider would be happy if they found out I was skiing while under drs orders to do nothing!I am not supposed to bend, twist, lift, or stretch anything. The last day that I skied without to much pain was march 9th at Cannon. It has gone steadily downhill since.

That is GREAT to hear. I'm hoping to get back next season, although the doc is still putting the time-frame at 9-12 months. What type of graft did you have? I had the Patellar Tendon rebuild. 4 weeks post-op, and it seems I'm turning the corner.

I'm with you Terry. Are you going to require surgery? Or is this one of those rest and heal things?

I am scheduled for direct steroid injection on april30th. They said that I will know within 7-10 days if it will work. If no improvement, surgery. But they did promise me that I would be skiing next year! I just hope that we get some good powder dumps like this spring. It is killing me to read all these reports and not be able to ski in it!

I had patella tendon as well (allo graft). I was putting full weight on the knee 3 days after surgery and soft pedal on bike 5 days after. As every surgeon will tell you, each of these is completely different. I was actually able to do everything (bike, ski, run) with the exception of hoops (which I suck at anyway) after the tear. I actually waited 2 months before seeing surgeon and having MRI...I just thought it was some sort of sprain. Odd, I know. But the positive part was that I enjoyed the recovery, I was skiing again in November and my repaired knee feels much stronger than other knee.

Wow! That's really good. I didn't hit the stationary bike until about 14 days post-op.
I know what you mean about not realizing the severity. In some ways, I was lucky in that breaking both the Tibia and Fibula in the same accident was enough to keep me from getting back on it. I think if the bones hadn't been affected, I would've thought the same thing, and could've potentially made things worse. Especially considering the fact that it happened 5 days before I was supposed to take the family to the Bush for the week....
