Does he have to re-enter the atmosphere at that height? Is he wearing a protective suit?

It will be cool if he can do it today. It's the 65th anniversary of Chuck Yeager's flight. Turned on Discovery Channel but it's not on now, must be another wind hold.

Impressive, but I think I'll take Joe Wittinger(sp?)'s early 60s freefall as a mark of bravery...back when the equipment designers and physicists literally didn't have a clue. Nothing against him...but this was just a "drop from a higher mark", with dozens of spacewalks previous for suit designs in the books....to get his name immortalized.
