I think the "stepping on child's toy" curve works well for that. Assuming you're the victim.

Oh man.... leggos and hot wheels cars are the worst! But where's the curve for hopping on one foot after stepping on said toy, and then stepping on another leggo with THAT foot?!

The clanking heating pipe doesn't start high enough, and should increase every time. By 6AM, I am throughouly pissed off.

I'm hoping my last round of bleeding the air out did the trick.

I find this time of year is worse as far as noise goes, since the weather is not too cold, the boiler loops have a chance to cool off a lot in between cycles, so they make more expansion noise when it kicks on. When the cycles are closer together in the cold of winter there's less noise. At least in my old system.
