Though I have not taken the snow cat ride, I know others on the board have and I have heard from several people who really enjoyed it, especialy cool for kids and noski's like me who seldom get to see the world from that perspective.

Consider outdoor ice skating at the Skatium in Waitsfield. They rent skates (stick/pucks too if you want) and serve hot chocolate, etc. They are open well into the evening for under-the-lights skating.

The Big Picture has a great restaurant (kids menu too if pertinant) and first run movies. Live entertainment or DJ quite often as well.

Sugarbush has live music in the evenings on weekends.

Check www.MadRiverValley.com for events schedule. Call the chamber of commerce lady if you have any questions, 1-800-82VISIT. She is pretty helpful....

The Lincoln Limo is pretty cool. We took Sugarbush Adventure Campers on rides during Christmas break and it was a big hit.

Absolutely.DO IT!

I did a cat ride at the Bush a couple years ago, even took a video, which I can't find right now. Itlooks like the same thing, but they have lowered the price. It was a hoot. The cat I was on was an actual groomer, it fit only 2 passenger and a driver. Rode shotgun and took it straight to the top on a fairly steep trail, over the lip to the top to see sunset. It sort of felt like being on a spaceship. You're going up the precipice, essentially laying down, looking at the starts, then bam! over the top to the flat so see the vista and sunset. Definitely worth the bucks an a memory keeper that's for sure. I still talk about it. Driving around on the trails in the dark, watching a winch cat work in the dark is simply awesome.

When you're coming downslope, you're almost standing up. Very strange to be going down at such slow speed.

Almost as much fun as skiing. Best part is that you do it as part of their evening grooming operation, so you can ski all day beforehand. The cabins are super warm and have great tunes inside.

p.s., if you ever get to Lake Placid, do the bobsled. Another keeper.

The prices seem expensive, but the memories are a lifetime and are great! Do it and bring a video recorder!

The snow cat ride is different than the groomer ride that billski describes. My son did the snow cat ride last weekend and was wowed by the trip to the top of the mountain and view from the observation deck.
