MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. - January 16 - After what has been a dry start to the ski season in Colorado, Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) is now a winter wonderland. The resort is reporting six inches as of 9 o'clock this morning, with no signs of the storm letting up and a forecast of up to 12 more inches throughout the next 24 hours.
This much anticipated powder day has local snow enthusiasts lined up at the Silver Queen lift ready to charge for first tracks. Crews were up bright and early plowing and shoveling, lift mechanics gearing up the lifts, and ski patrol out for their morning safety checks. CBMR is excited and ready for Mother Nature's gift.
