Wildcat was as busy as I've seen it this season yesterday morning, which isn't saying all that much seeing as I've only been there on weekdays. But around 11, the crowds disappeared, I assume to hit the holiday roads.

Sugarbush was quiet on Saturday. Cold kept people off the mountain which was in great shape and with no wind the temperature was not an issue. Sunday had significantly more people on the mountain. Skied Mt Ellen yesterday that had a modest crowd for a holiday Monday.

Camelback was busy all 3 days. The cold may have kept some back saturday am but as the weekend grew it warmed and the lots were pretty much full much like Christmas/New Years week. They must have fired away pretty good during the cold blast because in spite of the crowds the snow stayed really good most of the day and the moguls were all sorts of fun.

i bet the smaller and closer the mountain is to the major metro areas, the more busier it seemed to be. smaller acreage usually equates to more congestion on the slopes.

besides, the weather was so good ski wise the past 3-5 days that I am sure that there were plenty of choices for people to go to-other than just northern vt and the such as your only choices as usual.

so this weekend was probably a win for the smaller resorts. seems evident that at Stowe, they had typically fantastic ski conditions but not many people could afford to stay there?

Acutney was fairly empty on saturday, but I am not sure what qualify's for crowds at Ascutney anyway. It was quite cold early on with temperatures in the single number's.

Gunstock was buzy yesterday with a 10 minute wait for the HSQ, but that's probably due to poor lift maze control. All other lifts where ski on.

Seems like the cold snap kept a lot of folks away even though Friday and Saturday were the only cold days and Sunday and Monday were both powder days. Also seems like for the more crowded than usual set... a lot of people stayed in southern New England (no surprise since SoNE got good snow fall.

Monday at Sunapee was busy on the HSQ but fine on the the other chairs. It was a mob scene in the mountain top lodge lucky I was only in there to take a leak. Terrain park had too many people in it for its size -Surprised no one got hurt fyling over a jump onto someone below or maybe they did - i was only in there for 1 run with the kiddos.

There were no crowds or what I thought were no crowds all weekend. 'Course the pass holders thought it was busy.

I truely believe everyone was in the poconos.
You should have come north. Skied about 75,000 vert in 3 days.

I'm going to Jackson Hole in 3 days..I probably won't be back up in VT until March..

I'm very interested to see (me and I'm sure all the resorts) how much the economy is playing into day tripping. It's difficult to tell how much of the slow-day MLK behavior is temperature related versus expense. Anecdotally, I can tell you I saw a lot of people in stores and restaurants, but that might not mean anything.

I'm heading out to Utah in a month. 1 more trip on Superbowl weekend and I should be ready. Dam I hate having to train in Vt.

Have fun, let's get a day in when you get back.

I'm at Blue mountain almost everyday so that won't be hard to arrange..
