Pretty wild summary. Some interesting investments in the mountain but things are really gonna change. Glad I went a few years ago.

Is this the Peaks Review video? He didn’t hold back. He also doesn’t understand that Reed Hastings doesn’t GAF about what the 99% care about. He and his billionaire friends want that mountain. It really sucks. The writing was on the wall in 2012 when Summit came in. Us common folk got 12 years of borrowed time. Now that the starting act is over, the main act is here and it’s not pretty.

It is the Peaks one, posted two days ago. I couldn’t get the link to render properly.

they are like opposite ends of the spectrum but the whole spectrum is bad. unofficial networks flunked out of 5th grade and cannot write. peak has a liberal arts degree from colgate or something and overcompensates which is its own flavor of bad writing.

His "Best of Vermont" rankings last year was complete B.S. They pretty much focused on the areas that were on his passes, and not others. He reasoned that it was not worth putting any focus on Magic, for example, reasoning that it was closed midweek. And then he completely dismissed Burke as a "small locals area" despite it being open everyday and has over 2,000 foot vertical. Lame. (n)

And the way he pronounces certain words drives me nuts. :ROFLMAO: That said, some of his "rankings" and observations here in Utah are pretty good IMHO. I am always interested in hearing different perspectives.

Getting back to Powder, my sense is that he took a break from Vail bashing to bash Powder Mountain. He did another 20 minute video on Park City and the strike and I think it kind of went off the rails. As to PowMow, their decisions are pretty fucking stupid. But I have to wonder if he is venting about not being able to ski there now because it is not on his Indy Pass. :ROFLMAO:

Apparently he is also doing "ski meet ups" and expanding his business. It does not sound like he will be doing trips to Vail's areas or PowMow though. :ROFLMAO:

I don't know, its hard to consider either Magic or Burke a major player for precisely those reasons.

His voice is quite annoying. I read somewhere that most youtubers end up with a very odd cadence to their speaking as it apparently helps with the algorithm. Wild if true.

Reed breaks his silence to....the Times of London. Because all of the common folks in Utah read that I'm sure......

And how generous of him to be sure to make PowMow more affordable . One does not need to build a $3 million house, but a $2 million lot PLUS the cost of a house. And the initial fee is not $400,000, but $200,000. Phew, I was really worried. And finally, the annual dues are not $40,000 as with Yellowstone, but only $30,000 up to $100,000. So affordable!

The United States offers several private ski clubs for the 1 per cent, arguably the most famous of which is Montana’s Yellowstone Club, whose members include Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, the singer Justin Timberlake and Microsoft founder Bill Gates. Initial fees are reportedly $400,000 (£300,000) and annual dues more than $40,000 — and to join you need to buy or build a mountain home, with prices beginning at $3 million.

“I mean, Yellowstone Club is beautiful, but I never wanted to be part of it,” said Hastings. “I never want to join private clubs. Too much of my life during the Netflix phase was hobnobbing with big mucky mucks.”

To join his club you must purchase a plot for about $2 million, build a house, pay a one-off fee rumoured to be about $200,000, then cough up $30,000 to $100,000 in annual dues.
This guy is so out of touch with reality.
