There is 4 days before the HOOT...(We are making snow! Better not miss this one!)
This snow is on the Riemergasse trail aka the terrain park. They flattened the park and blowing snow for GMVS training. There's a slopestyle competition scheduled for Saturday
People think that this is all PR and blow for show, but for some places it's a heck of a lot more than that. Both SR and SL have major events and they aren't for weeks. I assume other mountains have events too. Aside from events, SR has 900 Brits coming the week after Easter. I mean, seriously, if it is cold enough, they either cancel a lot of stuff or they make snow.
Loon, Jay, and Saddleback may not have the big spring events later on, or the reservations, but they want the skier visits and who can blame them. EVERYONE is in the red on skier visits. Heck, it's so bad at Killington, the Brits who typically go there will have to go somewhere else unless K start blowing snow like nobody's business, which doesn't seem likely.
Jay Peak Resort Kevin, it's more about longer term profits. The better question is, what's it worth to keep your most core (Season Pass holders) happy. They spend a good portion of their winter here for a reason and they deserve it.
Does anyone know if Killington is going to make snow this week. I think they have to if they want to hold their june 1st fun slalom.
Who's planning on entering?

so let's see, if you bought a lift ticket probably at a discounted price or had a season pass and you completed the course you got a lift ticket good for next season. not a bad deal.
brings back memories.
never entered any of those late season things but memorial day skiing was always much anticipated.
Are you going to be there for Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge this Saturday?
(Not kidding)

memories .... memorial day skiing .... have i got a video for you .... i'm sure you've seen it but maybe i'll pick up a couple xtra hits. ;-)
pretty good turnout in '97 (parking lot was packed). obviously supe was the featured attraction but excellent bumps on skye lark as well and double dipper which was closed, had great coverage.
