Great, so you would fall into the second category I mentioned, folks who just have to have lots of power. Nothing wrong with that... its all about personal preference.
Personally I enjoy driving an early 1990s MR2, Miata and 325is more than a new Mustang GT, BMW 335, or even Evo/STi.
Anyway..I like Subarus as good quality, practical cars with a nice doze of quirky personality mixed in...and whats not to like about the awd system, especially as a skier.
It is kinda funny that MT tries to equate the Legacy, which is a pretty big car these days, to a go kart. A real go kart will pull enough Gs to crack ribs... a suped up Legacy, not so much.
I'd take an Audi S4 over that Subi.....or the WRX/STi, Lancer Evo ect. I know the spoilers on those cars are actually functional, but it's just a bit too much for me IMHO. I'd rather blend in a bit.
Not to say any of those other cars are "bad", just not my style.
Agree, the STI is somewhat of a "kids" car or for someone like me just a toy. If I were to pick a Subie as a daily driver (not a ski car) it would be the Legact GT---quick car, handles well with all the goodies to get you back and for to work. Take Subie out of it and the Skyline GTR comes to mind----hubba hubba
