Watch a few episodes of ice road truckers to get a feel for the kind of driving you will do to get there.

definitely heard it was very remote. Their plans are pretty ambitious for a mountain so remote; kinda has to be the full of superlatives to get people to commit to spending so much more time traveling.

no. It is a long drive on not the greatest roads, but they are permanent national highways.

Revy BC is the mecha for back country snowmobiling. It is remote, but people drive from all over the US and Canada to get there.

Why is this in the northeast forum???

because we have dreams...and our snowy dreams typically don't revolve around 4 inch dumps at Bellayre but rather on 4 foot dumps in places like Revelstoke. I went cat skiing in March of 2000 with Cat Powder on Mount Mackenzie and the area that is now the resort ...it is the place dreams are made of for sure....huge area with huge potential.

we flew into Calgary, think it was a 5 hr drive from there to Revelstoke...its remote, but not much worse than I-95 north of Bangor, ME. The grand vision for the resort is to have air service right into Revelstoke...they were talking about the vision back in 2000, cool to see it coming to fruition...wish I had 10K in 2000 to buy a piece of land in downtown Revelstoke.

Makes me wish my powder skiing skills were a lot better. I know that we do have some powder days here in the east, but I have never seen anything like that here. Although there was that one 14" powder day that I had at Copper in 2006.....That was fun.

We drove 700 miles the week we where at Panorama and KH.....some scary driving that is...nothing but buses and huge logging trucks bearing down on us. When we told people we where from NY they where amazed, couldn't believe we came up there. And yes they are highways, but nothing like I had ever driven before.
