Got to the lot at 8. Upper gondi lot full. Full. I could see hoards of burton employees scrammbling up Gondolier so I followed the nice skin track up lower Nosedive, midway, liftline. Liftline and National were blown in edge to edge, 12-20 inches deep. Truely a special day and at the end of the year, I am sure I will remember it as one of the best. Great, consistant snow everywhere. I skiied lift line to the 13 pitch, back up, Nosedive to cliff trail, up Cliffy to the gondi house, and down perry merril from the top to Gondi/perry merril out. So good I didn't stop to take any pics or video. Yesterday was a great early season day, but today was on another level. Not often the snow is so evenly laid in and following the contours of the trail in such a natural way. Lower national looked amazing with all of it's undulation, but with 5 tracks down it, it was pretty much played out....didn't want to stop, but by my 3rd descent I was having to stop every few hundred vert work the quad pump out. Still plenty left for early birds tomorrow, but it's gonna warm up so you better be EARLY for pow....I heard Star got skiied a few times. That is an indicator of how much lake effect they got yeasterday considering they only had about 6 inches yesterday morning.
