June temps, at times it was flat out hot. Snow coverage was pretty good on Saturday, but very mashed potato-y by the end of the afternoon. Even on Sunday morning, you could tell there had been a ton of melting and saw big muddy bare spots that weren't there the day before. Giant slush puddles turned into pools at the Fourrunner Quad Sun. afternoon.

I can only speak to easier trails, which probably don't interest a lot of the folks here, but there is a lot to be said for spring skiing. The bumps were amazing fun and the snow was so soft, I felt obligated to push beyond my skills. Had two spectacular wipe outs that were simply hilarious and tons of fun. By about 2 on Sunday, decided it was time to visit the bar before a few last runs, which I don't normally do. This was an excellent idea.

Sadly, this is the last trip of the year. Planning now for a big family Christmas in deep snow and digging out the gas grill and patio furniture.

Nice, I was at Mt Ellen yesterday and sounds real similar...lots of fun out there. My buddy who skied Sat at ME reported lots of coverage lost just overnight. They will still likely make 4/1 but I wonder if walking/downloading on the GMX may be required to get back to the base. Getting real thin down low.
