Area skied: Stowe
Date skied: March 18th, 2006 from 7:30 - 9:00pm
Surface conditions: powder, loose powder, icy spots.
My son and I just finished some really nice night skiing at Stowe. We arrived at the Midway Base lodge to a heavy snowfall with 3" on the ground.
Warren only took one run, but Perry Merrill to Gondolier is a very long run. It was challenging in spots as Perry Merrill had about 6" of wind blown powder on top of rock hard moguls on skiers left.
I did three more runs by myself and there was at least 4" of snow by the time we left at 9:30pm.
It was snowing so hard for the last run that I got in fresh tracks on nearly every part of the run.
Wind is still an issue and the snow at Cliff House was blown away by the wind exposing boilerplate for the first few 100 feet of Perry Merrill.
Their is nearly no new snow in Stowe village and only a dusting here in Waterbury. But it was cool to have fresh powder tracks at night.
