Stowe and Mansfield Backcountry 1/25

Since its Friday, I met up with Jumpin Jimmy Clapp and Scotty D for a day on
Mansfield. Gondola was on wind hold so after our first run (Stephanies to
Goatdive) we did Bypass to Upper Rim Rock and put the skins on.

We skinned over to Chin Clip and then out towards the notch. Wanting to
check out some shots we've been eying, we found ourselves skinning up "some
gully." I found myself having to bootpack it at times...those two skinned
up some pretty steep stuff. The dry powder on top of ice-crust was not
working for me.

The end result was a powder filled paradise. We skied great snow all the
way down to RT 108.

That makes 18 out of the last 25 days (since Jan 1st) on skis. Its been
another great week of skiing on Mansfield.

Im going up for February vaca so i hope to get some good pow. I don't know backcountry local-only spots like you but I should be able to look around.
