Does Stratton have woods online at this point? I would be very surprised to hear that trees are in play down there as I wasn't even going into the woods last weekend at Jay.

Stratton does have woods

This was from last March. It was rain and slush all the way to Jamaica when we started seeing big flakes.
We skied in the Kidder Brook glades and they were very tight.
My guess is their glade is the one to the skiers left of Spruce (Shredwood Forest) since the woods are so open.

They have this in their snow report...

That brings the 24 hour snowfall total to nine inches and 13 inches since the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday.

The woods are in great shape after the weather from the past few days, but always use caution. Some ICE, bare areas and thin spots may be present.

On another note, has anyone been up at Stratton recently at all? Going next week and it looks like it's gonna be cooooooooooold!

Anyone shed any light on how their grooming copes with stupidly cold temps and if there's any snow in the forecast. Been on NWS and it's looking promising but anyone have any more insight?

Oh, by the way, I'm in Florida this week. Is it good for the body to go from 80 degrees to single digits?:snow:

Stratton has a good snow making system, large grooming fleet and grooms the living daylights out of their trails. I have never really seen a correlation between low temperatures and how groomers 'cope'. It is the thaw and refreeze cycle that turns trails to blue ice.

Just be carefull in the trees anywhere in So VT/So NH right now, the December ice storm brought down ALOT of debris that may very well be hiding just under the surface waiting to take you out

Now theres a nice huck......kinda hard to see but that is sitting on top of a cliff. Stratton definitely has some good tree shots in there...
