Date(s) Skied: 2/28/12
Resort or Ski Area: Sugarbush
Conditions: Powder
Trip Report:
What a difference a month makes. I was at Sugarbush a month ago, while it wasn't terrible, it was nothing like the mountain I skied today. I went to dinner at the Hyde Away Inn at nine o'clock last night. It started raining. By the time I got back to the Golden Lion, it had turned to wet snow. In an act of wishful thinking, I turned the wipers up on my car. In the morning there was about an inch on my car. That inch translated to four on top of Lincoln Peak. Everything skied great, that four inches did wonders to freshen things up. Ha funny, last week four inches was a "dump". Anyway, I skied eveything but Liftline, and Rumble off the Castlerock chair. Found some nice low angle glades in Eden. As the day wore on, I realized what, besides snow, had been missing this season...variety. Ski some nice narrow bumps, Middle Earth, Castlerock, head into the woods, bomb some groomers. It wad great. How many frozen granular groomers can you ski before you go batty? I was beginning to think I was going to find out.
I'll be skiing Mt Ellen tomorrow. They're calling for six inches Wednesday night, could be more like a foot up high, fingers crossed. Here's a few pics.
