Date(s) Skied: Monday, 3/5/2007, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Resort or Ski Area: Sugarbush, Vermont

Conditions: Powder, Temps in the teens/20's, Heavy snow squalls, clearing late.

Trip Report: Today was a simple amazing day. We picked up a solid 8-10" of powder overnight and there was plenty of powder all over the mountain. Joe, my father-in-law Dan and I took a few warm-up runs off of Gatehouse hitting Sleepr/Chutes and then another run on Hot Shot/Waterfall. Joe and I then scored an untracked run on Morning Star - first two tracks down it today - incredible. Thigh to chest high powder shots with the occasional taste of powder. Awesome. A run on Sunrise and then on to the 'Rock.

Joe and I hit Middle Earth and then two runs on Castlerock Run. Fantastic. Deep powder over soft natural bumps. Bumped into smootharc on Castlerock Run. We then met back up with Dan and took Heaven's Gate to the LP summit. Saw Lostone on Ripcord and yelled hello. Joe and I hit Paradise which was uhm, you guessed it, deep powder over soft natural moguls. Fantastic. I finished up on The Mall which was a disaster for me as I was totally out of gas. The Mall was skiing great too though with more powder.

All in all, a top 3 day ever for me. Tough to almost not call it best day ever. Forgot the camera today, but doubt I would have even wanted to take it out.

Gonna be a cold one tomorrow. Thinking about MRG...

Sounds great.

Beware of the winds tomorrow....may be a good day to ski lower elevation pr sheltered stuff, such as The Mall, Castlerock, etc. Mad River may be a good option...will get the blood going...

What the heck are you writing up a report for, and not skiing still? lol.

I sent the wife out in the afternoon and watch the kids at the condo...

My wife cruised with my father-in-law this afternoon. She hasn't skied in two+ years. They had a great time. I went back out in the afternoon with my 4 year old and we took two laps on the magic carpet. Spoke with JimG. who is having some epic experiences at MRG the past few days. Hope to hook up with him at the Bush on Wednesday. Sipping on the vodka tonight and about ready to hit the pillow. I will be sleeping before 9 pm. Life is good.

Nice to meet you too. It amazes me when I bump into AZer/SkiMRVers on the trail. CR Run was perfect that day!
