I'd planned to take my sons to Sugarloaf, driving up there yesterday evening to ski today, but the logistics wound up not working and it's a little beyond day trip range for me - plus I was a little concerned it might not get quite warm enough at higher elevations there, which from BackLoafRiver's TR sounds like wound up being the case.
So instead we went to Sugarbush - my first time ever skiing Lincoln Peak - for what proved to be an absolutely primo corn day. Got off to a late start but one of the great things about spring skiing is that's not a problem at all. I was a little concerned about the surprise cloudiness most of the way up but we had clear blue skies at the mountain as we boarded SuperBravo about 12:10 p.m. In short it was perfect hero snow, in temps up to near 50 I'd say (I skied in long-sleeve t-shirt), with breathtaking long views. Ripped just about everything that was open and it was all good except parts of Paradise were bony.
Finished our last run at 5:05 p.m. and found the liftie at SuperBravo yelling "let's go people, hurry up" - there were a handful of folks at the chair, still being let on. My sons and I got last chair and we got one more last run. Great way to finish the day. (Though not the season, I hope.)
Too tired to post photos or video now but it was an exhilarating afternoon.
