Like many others here at Alpine Zone I was in the Mad River Valley and skied at Sugarbush this weekend. The weather took a turn for the best on Friday at 7 AM when the snow started. I skied at Mt Ellen from 8:30 to 3:30 as the snow accumulated to close to 10 inches by the end of the day. “Crowded” is a term that is never used at Mt Ellen and it was a spectacular day for the people that hit it. I spent Saturday at Lincoln Peak where we continued to get light snow showers and additional accumulation.
Sunday as rocojerry called it was “the cherry on top” with 4-6” of fresh light powder, no lift lines and another round of first tracks. I am a big fan of the Inverness lift area as it gets a lot less traffic than other areas on the mountain and I spent a lot of time in the woods there both Friday and Sunday. Here are a few lame pics from my cell phone that don’t really do justice to the conditions. If you were there, you know how good it was.
