Date(s) Skied: Saturday 2/11/06
Resort or Ski Area: Mt Ellen – aka Sugarbush North
Conditions: Primary: Packed Powder, Loose powder, man made & natural
Trip Report:
Uncrowded Saturday, Brilliant Blue Skies, Temps in low 20’s by mid day
Great day for groomers with the family! When you have blue skies and no wind you have to take the summit chair for the view. Top of Mt Ellen was in great shape – packed powder on Rim Run, Looking Good, Elbow, Cruiser, Which Way and Northstar. Took a few solo runs on FIS (groomed) and Cliffs.
We covered a lot of vertical with no lift lines. Toughest trail of the day was Walt’s Trail which is usually a winding green cruiser. The top of the trail was signed “Thin Cover / Experts Only” and there were stetches of the trail which earned that designation. Overall another fun day at Sugarbush.
