Got to the mountain at 7:30. Dropped the girlfriend off at the fitness center so she could do her yoga thing and XC.
Parking lot was pretty full but the lodge was EMPTY. Grabbed first chair and decided to do warm ups down Scoot and Tote Road. The winds were fairly calm to start the day.
Tote had been blown on in the last 24 hours so the snow was soft. Scoot was fantastic. Snow was carvable and the wind didn't seem to have had much of an effect there. The guns were on full blast covering King's Landing. I stayed away to explore other areas.
They were running the summit lift early. Hopped on and did the obligatory Tote Road Extension. Wind was picking up quite a bit. Trail was super slick with patches of ice and super hard snow. Got back on the lift to run down Timberline. The wind had picked up and it was BRUTALLY cold. Not worth the ride up. Headed directly to Bullwinkles for a cup of joe. I usually never break (save bathroom needs) but I had to thaw.
King Pine was skiing great. Widowmaker had tons of great snow with no real ice. Ramdown was in good shape as well.
Run of the day was definitely Hayburner. Lapped it 6 or 7 times.
Sugarloaf recovered very well. Tuesday they were claiming 20 something trails open. They didn't groom for a couple days to let the snow drain and then started a snowmaking fest. It really paid off. Sorry I didn't get any pics...it was just too damn cold. :smile:
