Weather: Rain, fog, ice
Conditions: Powdery in the morning, variable in the afternoon.
Got out for the first time this season with my son at Sugarloaf. The weather was very strange to say the least. Started the day off skiing a groomed Tote Road, it was pretty good. After this we went over and skied spillway, which had nice groomed snow and some moguls on the side. We took the T-Bar up and did another run on spillway. After this we skied Bubblecuffer, which had great soft bumps. We made our way over to King pine and skied a few runs on Choker and Widowmaker, these two trails had nearly perfect soft snow. We then took a run on Ripsaw which also had awesome moguls before heading in for lunch. During lunch it started to rain lightly which was no big deal. As soon as we got outside it started to freezing rain, we took a run down skidder and by the time we got to the bottom we were coated in ice. At this point you could barely see because 20 ft. of fog. We went over to spillway and took four runs on bubblecuffer and it was just as nice as it had been earlier. We then took two runs on ripsaw, which was also good. After this we took a run on Hayburner, which had great loose snow. All in all the conditions were 9 out of 10 but the weather was maybe 2 out of 10.
