Resort skied: The 'Loaf
Date Skied: 2/28/10
Conditions: Powder, Powder, Powder...and more Powder
Trip Report: What a day! My legs are on fire, and I have perma-grin.
Sugarloaf was out of control today. As you would expect, with amazing conditions come crowds. There were a ton of people there. The access road was backed up to the Rack and every lot was jammed full. I was on first chair (aside from the Gold Plus Pass people who had been up since 7:30...still bitter about that) and it was non-stop run after run. Everything was skiing great. The snowfields were open but no one hit them up until mid afternoon when the clouds finally lifted and you could see where you were going.
One of the top 5 days of the season. Here are a bunch of shots:
Break of sun:
Glancer:
Lower Glancer:
Glades at the bottom of Glancer:
Ram Pasture Glades:
Glades between Hayburner and Skidder:
Hayburner:
The bumps off King Pine were Huge. Easily the biggest they have been this season. The first few runs in the afternoon, when the visibility was low, were super scary. You couldn't see the next turn in front of you so when you hit the next mogul, you could get launched from your skis. After about 3 or 4 runs, it cleared up enough to see and it was soft and amazing. So nice. And they are on tap for another 6 - 10" tonight!!!!
