CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine- For the second year in a row, Sugarloaf will offer guests the unique opportunity to ski and play golf on the same day, during the second annual Ski & Tee Weekend, May 14-15 . The award-winning Sugarloaf Golf Club will open nine holes for the weekend, allowing visitors to ski in the morning and play golf in the afternoon, or vice versa.
The May 15 closing date for skiing operations will mark one of the latest closing dates in Sugarloaf's 60-year history.
"It has been a tremendous year for snow, and with one of the latest closing dates Sugarloaf has ever had we thought that a Ski and Tee weekend would be the perfect way to close out the seeason," said Brad Larsen, Director of Sales and Marketing for Sugarloaf. "It's not often that a resort can offer lift serviced skiing and golf in the same day."
Nine holes will be just $39 on both Saturday and Sunday, May 14 & 15, for the general public, or just $25 for anyone who shows a lift ticket or New England Pass valid for that day.
On May 15 Sugarloaf will also host the 29thAnnual Sugarloaf Marathon & 15K. With nearly 800 runners currently registered, this year's marathon with feature the largest field of runners in the event's history.
The Sugarloaf Golf Club was recently honored as Maine's #1 Golf Course by Golf Digest, the 25thtime the course has earned that distinction. The back nine at Sugarloaf features the world famous "Sting of Pearls" - holes 10-15 which run along the West Branch of the Carrabassett River and feature striking vistas, elevated tee boxes, and one of New England's most unique golf experiences.
The course will close again temporarily following Ski & Tee Weekend, and will reopen for regular operations in late May.
