It's rare that I take a vacation day for anything other than a powder day.
Today, I had planned to hit Jay as part of a 4 day weekend up there -- but plans changed, and I had the time scheduled off from work so I decided to still at least head north.
Left before 6am, and got to the mountain at 9am. Sunny and cold. Got out there, groomed perfection.. Not much wind early in the day, and as temps warmed up and got nice -- wind did pick up a little...
I ventured from North Peak to Jordan and back, then hitting Locke and Barker after lunch...
Groomers off of Spruce early AM were probably the trails of the day. I did get in a run off of Tin Woodsman on Oz, while the side held some snow -- mid-trail was windblown.
Great, low-crowd, sunny ripping day on the hill... I should take non-powder days off more often
sure beats work.
